Tinplate

Zhongshan Zhongyue Tinplate Industrial Co. Ltd., a wholly foreign-owned enterprise invested by Guangnan (Holdings) Limited that is a listed company in Hong Kong, established in 1989. The company is principally engaged in the production and trading of tinplate, tin-free steel (TFS) and further processed products such as coated/printed tinplate/tin-free steel, as well as black plate (cold-rolled steel plate), with an annual output of 240,000 tons of tinplate/tin-free steel, 20,000 tons of coated/printed tinplate/tin-free steel, 150,000 tons of black plate (cold-rolled steel plate).

Tinplate and tin-free steel, the company's main products, are metallic packing materials extensively used in food industry, light industry and chemical industry.

In order to meet the requirement of tinplate industry development, the Company has already formulated a five-year development plan In 2004, In 2005, the Company's special tin-free steel production line with annual output of 80,000 tons was set up and put into production, which is self-developed, with self-owned intellectual property. In 2006, the Company commenced to a black plate production line with an annual production capacity of 150,000-ton production capacity. It commenced production in March 2007 providing a steady supply of raw materials for the production of tinplates. This is the first self-designed and manufactured black plate production line in China. The completion of this project will substantially quicken the steps for producing blackplate (material for tinplate) domestically and also will promote the product mix and innovation in China metal package industry.

Zhongyue Posco (Qinhuangdao) Tinplate Industrial Co., Ltd.

In December 2006, the Group formed an alliance with its strategic partner, POSCO Co. Ltd., to establish a joint venture, Zhongyue Posco (Qinhuangdao) Tinplate Industrial Co., Ltd., in which the Group has a 66% interest and POSCO has a 34% interest, in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. The joint venture was formed in February 2007 to construct a tinplate production line with an annual production capacity of 250,000 tonnes. The production line started production in February 2008. The Group currently with production bases in both the northern and southern region of China have an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes for producing tinplates.
